Why is there so much racist content on TV?

Don't they have anything better to talk about?

It's driving me nuts.  I don't want to be a racist person.  Perhaps there is a smattering of racism in me, but I hate to encourage it by watching tv or porn.  They are both very racist and they drive me crazy.

I wish they would stop being so racist.  By exposing racism, you create more racism.  It's horrible.

If you want to extinguish hate, you have to do it slowly.  Immerse yourself in another culture.  It helps and its fun.

Have you every gone to a black Pentacostal church?  It's a lot of fun and I highly recommend it, especially if you are white.  Go to a sushi place.  Go to a Cuban restaurant.  Find more ways to be multicultural.

Stop harping on words of hate.  Everybody thinks them sometimes, but that doesn't mean that you have to be a hateful person.  Don't be.  You're better than that.

Self-Hatred and Racism

A lot of people hate themselves and don't know where to direct their rage.  It's not just the media that does this.  People make mistakes and come out hating themselves and sometimes this manifests itself as racism.

Racism is an unhealthy way to express self-hatred.  But people do it all the time.

So how do you cure self-hatred?  It's not easy.  Some people will say you are overcompensating, but sometimes its healthy to overcompensate.

Do something that makes you feel good about yourself.  Whether this is blogging or music or going to a movie.  Whatever helps you feel better about yourself will soothe the self-hatred that causes your racism.  (If it exists at all.)

Why are people so harsh to the Latino population?

Latinos and Latinas are a vital part of America.  Remember that America is bigger than the United States.  It encompases 2 whole hemispheres.  A lot of Latinos and Latinas come to the United States looking for a better life.  They end up taking low wage jobs and working their way up, just like everyone else.

But there is no reason to look down on the Latino/Latina community for this fact.  There are poor people throughout the world and they should be treated with dignity and respect.

God bless them, keep them and hold them close to her heart.

The Latino/Latina community is very diverse, ranging from Cubans and Puerto Ricans to Columbians and Brazilians and much much more.  There are dark skinned Latinos/Latinas and light skinned Latinos/Latinas and everything imaginable in between.

In some ways, the Latino/Latina community is more accepting, kind hearted and diverse than the white community.  I envy the Latino/Latina community in this respect.

Let us not forget that some Latinos and Latinas are quite wealthy and add to the economy of our nation quite a bit.  Poorer Latinos and Latinas are hard working and also add to the diversity and economy of our nation.

Reach out to the Latino/Latina community.  Support their stores, restaurants and other businesses.  God bless.

The role of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is key to ending racism.  We need to move past our thoughts and actions of the past and reach out to people who we have never reached out to before.

There are many ways to forgive.  But most importantly, you must forgive yourself.  I haven't forgiven myself completely and it may take years before I do.

You must be patient with forgiveness.  It doesn't happen overnight.  It takes time and effort.  But if you are going to move on with your life and not be racist, you must give yourself time to forgive.

Maybe someone of another race has hurt you in your past.  Maybe you hurt someone of another race and feel guilty about it.

Forgiveness is key.

Perhaps you could write a letter or email to the person that you hurt and apologize.  Perhaps you could date a person of another race.  Perhaps you could listen to hit music stations, because they play music of people of every race.  Listen to music of other races and it will give you an appreciation of their culture and help you forgive.

These are just a few ideas, but I hope they help you forgive.  Thanks.
