The role of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is key to ending racism.  We need to move past our thoughts and actions of the past and reach out to people who we have never reached out to before.

There are many ways to forgive.  But most importantly, you must forgive yourself.  I haven't forgiven myself completely and it may take years before I do.

You must be patient with forgiveness.  It doesn't happen overnight.  It takes time and effort.  But if you are going to move on with your life and not be racist, you must give yourself time to forgive.

Maybe someone of another race has hurt you in your past.  Maybe you hurt someone of another race and feel guilty about it.

Forgiveness is key.

Perhaps you could write a letter or email to the person that you hurt and apologize.  Perhaps you could date a person of another race.  Perhaps you could listen to hit music stations, because they play music of people of every race.  Listen to music of other races and it will give you an appreciation of their culture and help you forgive.

These are just a few ideas, but I hope they help you forgive.  Thanks.

Scott
